Briefing

If we could offer only one piece of advice to our clients, what would it be?

Quite simply – keep people informed.

All too often, schemes encounter unnecessary opposition because the local community is not aware of what is going on. This leads to speculation, gossip and scaremongering which can have a terminal impact on a planning application.

At GKA, we adopt a proactive approach and ensure the right people are briefed with the correct information, so that the decision makers have access to undistorted facts at the end of the process.

Our briefings usually include:

  • high level political and officer engagement
  • key stakeholder engagement using a variety of briefing tools
  • scheme brochures
  • press briefings

The timing of briefings is just as important as the content. So, not only do we identify and prepare the briefings that are most effective on a given project, but we also implement them at the appropriate time.
